back in the saddle

so… i haven't actually blogged in over 2 years, which is a considerably long amount of time. not that i have fallen off the face of the earth, just simply moved onto other social networking sites… well site… twitter. however, now i am getting the urge with a push from a recent conversation to blog again. we shall see if i follow through.

perfect branding

as most of you know I am obsessed with typography. so i wanted to bring to your attention [those that haven't already noticed] the fedex logo. now i can even agree the actual typeface used isn't perfect and they could probably find a similar font that meets their needs yet is still structured properly. besides that, the reason i bring this to your attention is because of its perfect use of type and image. fedex is a global devilery service [for those that didn't know]. take a close look at the logo. do you see it? come on now "Ex" marks the spot. well ok if you haven't seen it yet ill point it out to you. the "Ex" froms an arrow in the negative space. quite literally it is the perfect use of type an image for a specified brand.

so i have been working at tequila\ and part of tbwa\chiat\day and it is amazing. the opportunity to be here in this environment is just stellar. so i am stoked on it. i mean im at a loss for words. and if you know me you know i dont have that happen that often.
